WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. In His love, God sent His Son, Jesus, born of a virgin, to pay the penalty for our sins. Jesus was crucified, buried, and rose again on the third day.
A
BIBLICAL FOUNDATION
At Allenhurst Church of Christ, we believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, serving as our ultimate guide for life and faith. We affirm one true and holy God—eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe in the full deity of Jesus Christ—His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death through His shed blood, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His promised return to judge the world.
We believe the Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son, actively working to convict hearts, bring salvation, and dwell within believers—equipping them for growth, service, and confirming their identity as children of God. We hold that salvation comes only through faith, repentance, and being washed in the precious blood of Christ. Baptism by full immersion is a vital expression of this faith, where sins are washed away and new life begins through the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost—those in Christ rising to eternal life, and those without Him to judgment. The Church is the one spiritual body of Christ, made up of all who submit in obedient faith. As the Church, we are called to gather regularly for worship, prayer, the teaching of Scripture, the Lord’s Supper, fellowship, service, and outreach to the world.
